Nespresso Coffee Machines do not fill with water after months of disuse.

Sometimes Nespresso coffee machines will not fill with water after months of not using them. It is a very common issue with this type of coffee machine, as the interior tubing dries out and the machine itself cannot refill itself with water. We will explore a homemade method to ensure the machine feeds correctly from the water reservoir
-
1. Remove the water reservoir
-
-
-
We need the following two things for this procedure:
-
A syringe, the bigger the better. In this case I use a 20ml one.
-
-
-
2nd: A piece of foam or sponge. Ideally as rigid as possible. A piece of wide rubber that exceeds the diameter of the syringe can also work.
-
-
-
We will make a hole in the sponge up until half of its length so that the mouth of the syringe can rest in it.
-
We will make a small fissure so that when we insert the syringe, the tip will protrude slightly beyond the sponge.
-
-
-
Support the sponge/foam using the syringe, completely covering the hole
-
In the included images we can see that the syringe is slightly leaning towards a side. I have chosen to make the hole be tilted inside of the sponge since this will make it work with the highest number of coffee machines, since many of them protrude from the rear and the syringe could be obstructed by the machine.
-
This way is the most versatile way of doing it that maximizes compatibility between different models.
-
-
-
1. Having positioned the syringe, press down so that the water does not escape through the side.
-
2. Press the button. In this case, the large cup one, for example.
-
3. Press the piston down completely while the water pump is running.
-
4. When the syringe is completely depleted, press the button again to stop the pump.
-
5. Remove the syringe.
-
-
-
With the water reservoir correctly placed, lift the capsule lever completely.
-
Press the large coffee button.
-
When water starts to flow from the reservoir, close the lever to ensure that water begins to flow.
-
Our problem is hereby solved.
-
If this method doesn't solve the problem, we can try repeating it, and if the machine still doesn't absorb water, we'll only have to disassemble it to manually prime the water inlet hose to the pump.

Fill with a syringe.

Muchas gracias.
