Hi I'm Colleen Denery!
I'm a student in the design program at UC Davis. I was born in Burlingame, California, but I grew up in Newton, Massachusetts. I'm a designer who uses my traditional art and drawing skills to enhance my digital work. I'm very influenced by pop culture in my design and illustration work. Utilizing a mix of skills I developed from drawing on paper and applying them to digital work. Such as using pen strokes to color and shade my drawings. I recently transferred from College of San Mateo as a Digital Media major.
I included this picture of me at my final for Fall Quarter 2024 for design 1 because this project was really my first big assignment here at Davis. It really challenged me to adapt and problem solve, but I learned many useful things from it.
I included this image of a dress design that I made for one of my classes this quarter because I'm slowly starting to find a new hobby in costume design.
Thoughts for this Project
I've never been that much of a tinkerer. So learning about ways to fix my own stuff instead of give up on it is a super useful skill I'm looking forward to learning more about. I also am looking forward to learning more tricks to design with text. As well as learning to design guides that will directly help people out and help our world out too.
