=* specifies the name of a street curve to avoid confusion with the highway name. The curve can be signed as a hazard=*, but does not have to be.

If the curve is not named but numbered, use curve:ref=* instead.

How to map

=* can be mapped at the existing highway element:

  • node as a node at the vertex of the highway
  • way along the curved highway way segment
