A club is an association of two or more people united by a common interest or goal. A service club, for example, exists for voluntary or charitable activities; there are clubs devoted to hobbies and sports, social activities clubs, political and religious clubs, and so forth.

Rationale

This proposal aims to provide a key for mapping the location where clubs regularly meets. The tagging logic is the same of shop=*, office=* and craft=*.

• I oppose this proposal. "the location where clubs regularly meets" should be tagged as a building=*, amenity=community_centre, or whatever best physical description applies. This proposal will simply get confused with amenity=nightclub. Also, many of your examples never meet in the same spot (such as hiking, hunting, linux, openstreetmap, etc.), so where do you put the tag?--Alester 21:10, 10 December 2011 (UTC)
