Proposal
For a raised protected walkway behind battlement or parapet traversing a medieval city walls, castle and fortress walls.
Rationale
It's a kinda very specific walkaway vis-a-vis edifice it travers, with a very specific use both in past (original purpose) and in present. It most often requires permission for access. It could have additional features along the way such as passing through fortified towers, gates or doors, there could be wooden bridges and terraces, stairways, and covered passages. All these features have one purpose in present times and that's tourism - tourists are costumers regardless of whether they require permission or if access is free.
