Proposal

Proposal to formalise the (sparsely-used) historic=time_capsule tag.

Time capsules are usually deposited in marked man-made structures, designed to preserve the capsule itself until the set or projected future opening date.

Rationale

These are verifiable objects that may have historical or research significance.

Tagging

  • historic=time_capsule
  • start_date=Date when the capsule was deposited (optional)
  • name=Name of the capsule, if there is one (optional)
  • Other descriptive tags, such as access=* material=*
