Flame trenches aeroway= are designed to channel rocket exhaust away from the launch pad aeroway=launchpad. Part of the aeroway=launch_complex. See [W] Sound suppression system.

How to map

  1. Create a closed way around the extent of the flame trench area.
  2. Add the tag aeroway=.
  3. If applicable: add barrier=ditch or tunnel=* (probably location=underground)
  4. In case of a [W] Rocket engine test facility add flame_trench=rocket_engine_test

Usually located within the area of a aeroway=launch_complex at the aeroway=spaceport
