Sports features dedicated to the sport of running. This tag is generally synonymous with athletics=running, which treats running as a part of the broader sport of athletics=* (track and field).

Since this is a secondary (non-physical) tag, it should always be combined with some other feature tag. Typically, this would be a leisure=track, but there might be other features dedicated to running (e.g. stadium, fitness machine). See Tag:leisure=track for instructions how to map common 400-metre oval running tracks. Other combinations of interest include:

  • club=sport – for offices of running clubs
  • leisure=stadium – for stadiums used exclusively for running events
  • shop=sports – for shops that primarily sell running equipment
