Francis Collins

It's Frankie!

Francis Collins (April 1, 1950–) is an American physician/geneticist who used to serve as the director of the US National Institutes of Health (NIH). He was the head of the US research institute that worked on the Human Genome Project.

Collins has some strange and contradictory views. For example he is an Evangelical Christian [1] and a theistic evolutionist[2], which surprises skeptics[3] who nevertheless acknowledge his scientific expertise. He is also the founder of the supernaturally inclined "BioLogos Foundation" and served as its director until his appointment as director of NIH.
