Joel Brind is a professor at Baruch College, City University of New York and a anti-abortion advocate, best known for pushing the discredited link between abortion and breast cancer. After he published a meta-analysis in 1996 which was sharply criticized,[1] he has preferred to push this link via his organization, "The Breast Cancer Prevention Institute". Also, he seems to be an IDiot, as evidenced by the presence of his name on the Discovery Institute's A Scientific Dissent from Darwinism list.[2]

Lecturing

Since 1992, Dr. Brind has written and lectured extensively on his pseudoscientific claim about a connection between abortion and breast cancer, having been invited to discuss his claims on news programs of major television and radio networks, including CNN, CBS, CBC, NPR, and ABC, as well as writing articles for newspapers (the NYT and Wall Street Journal) and magazines (Time, Newsweek, and US News and World Report).[3]
