Xenoglossy or xenoglossia is the phenomenon where one can speak or write a foreign language allegedly without having it learned in a normal way. The term is used to describe a type of miracle in Christianity[1] and those "girl hits her head, starts speaking Sanskrit" stories. A few xenoglossia claims have been investigated,[citation needed] and it always turns out that the claim has been overblown: either the speakers had had previous exposure to the "new" language and/or their command of it was very poor, or they were just making it up, as in the video below.
