Alfonso Palacios
Alfonso Palacios was an Iberian Lasombra physician who focused on hemopathies.
Biography
Palacios entered the court of Sancho the Fat as a physician of capable skill who cured the king of several diseases. As a reward, he was given riches the position of court physician. When he failed to heal one ailment, however, he was ousted from court by jealous rivals.
Embittered, Palacios traveled Spain, offering his services as a healer to those he could afford it, regardless of their religion. He was found by an ambitious Lasombra, who offered him revenge on his enemies in exchange for his services. He dedicated himself to the study of disease, especially blood borne ones that would also affect Cainites.
In 1450 CE, he was regarded as the eminent authority on hemopathy in vampiric circles and many undead scholars would travel to study with him in his bibliotheca near Zaragoza. In 1485, he was betrayed by a rival and taken by the Inquisition, his priceless library going up in flames. Rumors tell that Palacios struck a deal with the Inquisitors in order to share his knowledge about the undead and aid them in their experiments in exchange for his survival and test subjects for his continued studies.
