Ambrose Gant

Ambrose Gant is a powerful psychic trapped in a coma at Bishopsgate Mental Asylum.

Overview

A popular entertainer in the mid-70s, Gant fell in love with and married one Wilhelmina Teesdale, an American aristocrat who proceeded to generate endless drama and stress in his life, due to her anxiety about Gant’s use of his psychic powers. Eventually, the two divorced, but continued living together until the performer tripped on the deck of his yacht and entered a deep coma.

Wilhelmina arranged for her former husband’s stay at Bishopsgate Asylum, where Gant’s mind grew ever more powerful without a body to provide an outlet for it. The man, a death-seeker in light of his imprisonment in his own flesh, can now astrally project and psychically possess staff at will, though his powers are incapable of letting him compel others to pull the plug on him.

Out of bitterness for his entrapment and desire to draw attention to himself, Gant now takes out his frustration on his surroundings, enveloping the asylum and its inhabitants in a living nightmare. His greatest hope is that one of his victims will pin the blame on him and finally end his torment.
