Aretus
Aretus is the central figure of the Kitab al-Alacir, a philosophical text that forms the basis of the Sons of Ether's Paradigm. Whether Aretus is purely allegorical or based on some real historical figure is difficult to say; the tradition that says the Kitab was composed in ancient Troy and read by Aristotle is likely an exaggeration, and modern Etherites point to similarities between the Kitab and the works of Heraclitus and Parmenides to suggest a much later date of composition.
