Bill of the Bear

Bill of the Bear is a Rank 6 Gurahl. Suprisingly he is friendly to the Garou cubs...

Bio

Bill believes himself to be one of the last werebears left in North America. In the distant past (perhaps during the War of Rage itself) he fell in love with a Garou and betrayed his fellow Gurahl for her. He has made peace with his actions, but still feels deep sadness for all he has lost. If it were not for the urging of Bear, he would leave Gaia altogether, perhaps to seek his ancestor spirits in the Deep Umbra.

Bill possesses the Horn of Fenris, a talisman which can be used to summon spirits. He believes it to be non-functional, but only because he's never had need of its power. (And also his ancestor spirits are mad at him.)

Bill lives alone in a cabin in northern Canada, not far from the Winter Wolf Sept, though he tries to avoid the attention of the Garou. That said, he is often lonely, and happy to aid travelers in need. He also knows the story behind the Narlthus, and will tell it if asked, or just for entertainment. No one can find Bill's cabin unless he wants them to.

Appearance

A tall, broad, bearded man. Bill's face is weathered by time and tears.

In the Rite of Passage book, Bill is referred to as being a "Children of the Bear" instead of a Gurahl. The Gurahl name wouldn't be fully established until the Werewolf Players Guide in 1993.
