Black Shuck (WTA)
A lineage of Silent Striders who inspired the folktale of The Black Shuck, each Garou born to this lineage is a living omen of trouble for England's Garou.
Biography
The legendary black dog of Norfolk, as large as a calf and with eyes like burning embers. Sightings of this beast have been reported since at least the 1500s, mostly around graveyards, lonely country roads, and the hills and marshes near villages. The legends say that any who see the Black Shuck are doomed to die within the year, if the beast doesn't take their life then and there.
The truth behind the myth is that there have been a number of Black Shucks over the centuries, born from one of the few remaining wolf packs preserved in secret by the Garou of England. The story goes that long ago an Arabic Silent Strider by the name of Ahmad ibn Fadlan traveled to England alongside the Fenrir warrior Buliwyf Bearslayer to battle a powerful vampire and its brood. Bearslayer died in battle but Ahmad survived and bred with some wild wolves near Norfolk. Every few generations, one of the wolves carrying Strider blood breeds true and Black Shuck walks the earth once more.
The appearance of a new Black Shuck always coincides with upcoming strife for England's Garou; the rise of powerful Wyrm beasts, spiritual plagues, and human treachery. During every such event, Black Shuck has played a key role in the battle against the Wyrm's forces. As of the new millenium, Black Shuck has not been seen for many decades but it is feared that it is only a matter of time, and that his return will herald the Apocalypse itself.
