Blackburne of the Minch

Blackburne of the Minch was an infamous changeling pirate active in the 1600s who feigned privateer status with a forged letter of marque from Louis XIV.

Overview

The captain of Le Tenasse, Blackburne haunted the English Channel, primarily targeting mundane English and Dutch ships. Every so often, he would head into the Hedge to raid hobgoblin settlements instead. The majority of his wealth was directed to the freehold of Saint-Malo.

Blackburne calls out to his targets in verse before boarding. Rumor has it that he bears a taboo demanding that he leave in peace those who respond in kind.
