Cambions

Cambions are the children of Succubi and their victims.

Overview

These beings, as the half-human children of dreams, are gifted with odd insights and the attention of the supernatural. They have an innate sense of illusion and reality, and are immune to the various mechanisms behind which supernatural beings hide their appearance (the Mask, for example, or Lunacy). Unfortunately, Cambions are prized by the Gentry, who go out of their way to steal them away.

Cambions are capable of being changed in the same ways a human would — they can be Embraced or Awaken, though these changes will suppress the advantages and drawbacks that the Cambion once had.

Powers

  • True Sight: Cambions are immune to the perception-altering qualities inherent to many supernaturals. They can see past the Mask and the Promethean aura of normalcy alike. They are immune to mages’ Quiescence and werewolves’ Lunacy. This power does not include active affects like the Contracts of Smoke or the Discipline of Obfuscate, though such abilities will trigger the Cambion’s Unseen Senses.
  • Unseen Senses: Cambions have the Unseen Sense Merit against any active supernatural power, though individuals will manifest this ability differently — one might develop hazy vision, while another will feel a prickle along the back of his neck. This power only triggers on the activation of active powers.
  • Dreaming Born: Cambions are lucid dreamers and may enter another’s dreamscape by spending one point of Willpower.
  • Not Truly Alive: While using any of the above abilities, the Cambion ceases to register as a living being; he will lack a pulse, breath, and apparent brain activity.
