Coterie

Coterie: A small group or "pack" of Kindred united by the need for support and sometimes common interests.^[1]

Coterie is a term used in both Vampire: The Requiem and Vampire: The Masquerade to denote a group of vampires who have banded together for a common purpose. Typically, they choose to band together on their own, under the belief that safety lies in numbers. On occasion, the prince has been known to assign neonates together as a "coterie" for a specific task.

Examples of coteries

Clanbooks of revised edition gave a plenty examples of coteries consisting of vampires of the same clan:

• Hezekiah's Revival for Brujah,
• Black Eagle Consulting for Lasombra,
• The Moirai for Malkavians,
• The Grave Robbers for Ravnos,
• The Rapairers of Reputations for Setites,
• Secondary Sources for Tremere,
• The Chalice of Osseous Delights for Tzimisce,
• Bile's Gambit for Ventrue.

Trivia

Instead of coteries, the Sabbat has packs of vampires. A Black Hand equivalent would be a kamut.
