Crimson Weavers
Crimson Weavers are a form of Moirae that focus on the fates of would-be lovers.
Biography
Description
| “ | But you are meant for one another! | ” |
Originating from the Thorns bordering China, these Moirae have spread over much of the world. They bind together individuals whom they view as “completing” one another, generally without any regard for their opinions, desires, or even mutual attraction. As such, many beneficiaries of the Weavers lead unfulfilling lives, in extreme cases even killing the partner to escape the binding. These beings are fully capable of staying in the mortal world as they seek out targets, even holding down jobs.
Appearance
Crimson Weavers tend to bear the appearance of aged Asian men and women. Strands of red string wrap around their bodies, beneath their clothes and skin; in particular, these threads hang from their fingers and can be cast out to enact the Weavers’ powers. The Mask shows unremarkable humans, though Weavers may be identified by their frequent references to destiny and archaic turns of phrase.

Fae Aspects
- Red String of Destiny: Once per day, the Moirae is capable of binding two people together; this requires the targets be within ten feet and takes two points of Glamour and a (Wits + Crafts + Wyrd) roll, contested by the target’s (Composure + Wyrd). This must be done twice, once per target. If successful, the targets’ destinies are entwined.
Soul mates tend to find one another; on first meeting (sometime within three days of the Red String roll), they feel a great familiarity with one another. After meeting, being apart becomes more and more distracting. After three days apart, this distraction will induce a -1 penalty that rises to -2 after three weeks and -3 after three months. The bond can be broken, however. Eventually (first after six months apart, then nine, then a year and a day), this penalty will lower, before the string eventually snaps. Alternatively, any Crimson Weaver can break the thread, though it is invariably difficult to convince them to do so.
