Daniel (Satyr)

Daniel was a Satyr and the second owner of The Fool's Gambit freehold.

Overview

Daniel (the only name he seems to be known by) entered kithain history when the founder and first owner of The Fool's Gambit tavern, the Eshu Patrick Drey, felt his age and handed ownership of the freehold on to him.

Daniel had care of the place during the industrial revolution and the block the building sat on had become a row of factories with horrendous working conditions. Kithain were coming less and less frequently because of the chill in the air and it seemed the tavern would be lost. Fearing the Mists and Banality, Daniel instituted the Riddle Contest in 1876. He chose the festival to take place on the Fourth of July in honor of the Liberty Tree and the original Sons of Liberty. He drew up the scroll of names and judged the first contest.

The first festival was mediocre but Daniel persevered and word spread. Local kithain began returning to Boston to participate. Then it was fae from all over the country; an then from all over the world.
