Edgar Drummond
Edgar Drummond is an 8th generation Ventrue of Chicago, a childe of Prince Lodin.
Biography
Drummond was the eldest son of a 19th century railroad baron who believed he was too stupid to take over the business. Furious at his father's decision to leave it to his two younger brothers, he found the financing to start his own railroad, which, true to his father's sense of judgment, quickly begun to flounder.
Even then, a pair of the bankers who had initially financed the railroad approached him and offered him money to stay afloat, in exchange for a 51% share of the company and the right to name its vice-president. Somehow, this seemed to have been the shot in the arm the company needed to begin thriving; although in the end it was massive corruption and fraud building within the company that made this the case.
The railroad caught the attention of Lodin, who Embraced Drummond and gave him control over the rail system of the entire city of Chicago, a position he relished for over a century until the development of road and air travel gradually began making him irrelevant.
Drummond had sired the gangster Walter Nash in 1939 in an effort to deprive Al Capone of a valuable retainer upon his imminent Embrace, but he and Nash were never a good match, as his childe chafed under his accountancy and ultimately slipped through his fingers. Lodin continually promised to allow him to embrace a more worthy lieutenant to assist him, but these assurances ultimately went unfulfilled when Drummond was destroyed in the War of Chicago.
