Elder Serpent

The Elder Serpent is a massive serpent-spirit who lives in Pangaea. Mokolé revere it, but Garou believe it is a servant of the Wyrm.

Overview

The Elder Serpent resembles a dragon, and dwarfs even the prehistoric carnosaurs that roam the realm. Its lair is located high in Pangaea's volcanic mountains, though no shapeshifter has ever managed to reach it. Rather, the Elder Serpent comes to them, appearing in its immensity to Changing Breeds visitors and asking for various favors. Usually these requests involve thwarting some aspect of the Weaver, though sometimes it has directed Fera against the Wyld. In exchange, it offers its own favors, such as teaching unusual Rites. Those who refuse are no longer welcome in Pangaea, but few refuse, if for no other reason than sheer intimidation.

Some Stargazers theorize that the Elder Serpent is a vestige of the Balance Wyrm, the uncorrupted force of endings and renewal, and its missions are meant to teach that all parts of the Triat should be equal. Other Garou scoff at this, however, and insist that Wyrm is Wyrm.
