Eternal Order of Dreams

The Eternal Order of Dreams is a group within House Leanhaun which hunts down and kidnaps Dreamers for later use.

Overview

This group of Leanhaun fae is an odd assortment of wide-eyed childlings and grizzled, almost-spent grumps and exists for one reason: to capture Dreamers, remove them from the waking world, and put them in freeholds within the Dreaming. Like their counterparts in the Keepers of the Rose, this Order seeks to provide for the darker times they perceive in the future. Many of the freeholds and workshops in the Dreaming where the Keepers deliver their chimera and treasures belong to this society, and are maintained by rotating rosters of Leanhaun of the Order. The rotation is meant to keep the members from madness but isn't entirely successful as many of them exhibit signs of first or second stage Bedlam and so they often use chimerical guards instead of changeling ones.

Their purpose is twofold. One, they wish to preserve Dreamers so that when Earth is bereft of them, the House will still have reserves to Rhapsodize. Second, these Dreamers will form the seed from which a new crop of Dreamers will be born to repopulate the Waking World and bring Glamour back when the Earth is in most need to them. Sadly, mortals weren't meant to spend so long in the Dreaming and many fall to Bedlam as well.

To prevent these Dreamers from falling into complete insanity the Leanhaun crafters have created Chronos Cages. These room-sized holding cells create zones where time passes incredibly slowly, extending the time of those in them from falling to Bedlam. Laid end to end, the cages provide house-sized accommodations for their "guests." With these living arrangements, plus well-escorted trips to Earth, the Order is having a good amount of success with staving off insanity. It isn't perfect, though, and if they don't bring Endless Winter soon, this current batch of Dreamers will be too insane when they are needed and some now advocate simply marking likely Dreamers and picking them up when the arrival of Winter seems imminent. Some say, though, that insane dreamers are better than none and that the Shattering happened so quickly there isn't a way to get them to the Dreaming in time if Winter comes unexpectedly. The house dares not be without a sizable group such as those they already possess in such an event.
