Firebrand (CTD)

In the common parlance of the Kithain, a Firebrand is a special messenger whose duty is to take a lantern of balefire from Tara-Nar on Midwinter's Night to a particular freehold to replenish the hearth there on Imbolc. It is considered bad luck if he or she doesn't arrive in time for the ceremonies of Imbolc.

In recent years some firebrands have been waylaid and had their lanterns stolen by masked, fae opponents.
