Fu Xia

Fu Xia was the founder of the Wu Lung and the one responsible for the rise of Yu Huang and much of the paradigm of the Middle Kingdom.

Biography

He united the different factions of scholar-wizards of China into one faction, called the Wu Lung or the Followers of the Way of Spirit. Previously, the different wizards all backed a different ruler, leading to strife and war. Fu Xia had them support Qin Shi Huang in uniting China. At his advice, Qin Shihuang destroyed most of the knowledge of rival magic or of previous Ages,  allowing Fu Xia and his followers to define the Consensus of the Middle Kingdom to their liking. When Qin Shi Huang attempted to obtain an elixir of immortality, Fu Xia arrived at his court and lied to him saying that immortality while living was not achievable (even though mages were perfectly capable of brewing immortality elixirs at that time) but he could have immortality while ruling in the Shadowlands as a wraith.

Fu Xia devised the ritual that granted 24,000 of Qin Shi Huang's best soldiers into the Immortal Guard by linking them to the Terracotta Army, as well as performed rituals to allow Qin Shi Huang to rise as a wraith without a caul. He also gave Qin Shi Huang much information about the Shadowlands, Spectres, Malfeans, and other aspects of the afterlife. He also gave Qin Shi Huang the Ju-I, a powerful artifact that was able to injure Lung Wang, a Malfean which had the form of a great white dragon. Fu Xia effectively created the Dark Kingdom of Jade that came to rule the Asian underworld of the dead.

Fu Xia departed Qin Shi Huang's court the night after performing the final funerary rites, after which the Qin Empire tore itself apart into civil wars and uprisings. The Wu Lung ceased to provide any major support to the Qin Empire after Qin Shi Huang's death and instead installed a new dynasty, the Han, after the Qin had dissolved themselves in civil strife. The Han emperors were largely mouth pieces of Fu Xia and his followers and continued to be so for at least 400 years.

As the Dragon Emperor, the head of the Wu Lung, Fu Xia established the paradigm for China, the Ministry of Works in which the Wu Lung worked their magic by petitioning the many gods and spirits of China through complex rituals. Fu Xia was also reputed to be the most powerful Dragon Emperor in the history of the Wu Lung and presumably ascended at some point.
