Fuat Drochit
Early History
The Fuat Drochit (Fuá Draíocht: Cold Mages), were an ancient Irish chantry branch of the House Díedne of the Order of Hermes.
This ancient chantry was born of the descendants of the Eíru Druids who through their awakened knowledge and close relationship with the Kithain sought to establish a harmonious understanding of the living magic that flowed through their shared lands.
This union of ideologies bore many wonderous fruits, such that to this day the legends of Ireland still hold legacies of the joined clans of man and Fae. This union however was not to last. As the two clans grew strong off of one another the Unseelie courts, still harboring a deep hatred for the growing numbers of mortals over running their lands, sought to drive a wedge between the druidic mages and their more agreeable Seelie cousins through careful fostering of paranoia and jealousy of the secrets of the Fae folk in the mortal mages.
Eventually this plan came to fruition when an Unseelie Fae maiden named Nimué under the guise of a Seelie trickster stole a prize possession from the mages, An enchanted sword called Claíomh Solais (The Sword of the Sun), and fled to the lakes of Wales to the east of Eíru.
Greatly incensed by this theft the mages met with the Seelie and demanded the sword back. When they claimed to not know of which sword they were accused of taking the mages saw this as further proof of their dishonest nature.
With that they severed all ties to the Fae and retreated into their isolated chantry and their studies, to remain alone up until the 1100s, long after the Fae had left the waking world, when the "Maraud" laid waste to their ancient coven.
