Gatherer

Gatherers are a type of Spectre found in Orpheus. Unusual in both appearance and function, a Gatherer's primary job is to take the empty bodies of skimmers and sleepers while they are projecting. Once a Gatherer has stolen a body, their job is to keep that body safe; they feed it with Vitality and gauze, protect it against foes, and can even move with the body through objects as if the body was a spirit. It is unknown where Gatherers take the bodies, or for what purpose they take them.

Gatherers resemble large, slimy white leeches with arms and legs. They swallow the body through their mouth, excrete out the unneeded things such as clothing, and carries them away. When a body is in the Gatherer, it lies curled in fetal position inside a translucent belly.
