Goll Mac Mourna

Goll Mac Mourna is a Fianna Galliard.

Biography

Born 35 years ago into a village of Fianna and their kin in the hills of Northern Ireland, Goll Mac Mourna grew to manhood largely untouched by the modern world. In spite of television and the comings and goings of various Irish militants, his community clung tenaciously to its traditions, guided largely by strong Garou leaders who saw beyond the petty religious bickering of their countrymen to the larger threat of the Wyrm. One of these leaders was a Galliard named MacManus who held the Chair of Stories for the local sept. MacManus was beloved and kept spirits high, for his tales and songs kept everyone's eyes on the higher goal of harmony with the earth herself and on the honor of sacrifice made in her name.

Goll worked odd jobs and sang rock songs with his friends in the local pub. He was known more for his brawls than his songs, however, and many assumed he would die in battle, hopefully against the Wyrm's minions and not against his own kin in a drunken row.

One morning, he was called to MacManus's house, where he was led to the great Galliard's bedside. MacManus was dying of Wyrm-inflicted wounds from a mission to Belfast, and MacManus told the young brawler that he was to take MacManus' places in the community. Filled with doubt but honored at being chosen, Goll spent the next few days at the dying Garou's side, learning all he could of the path ahead of him. At MacManus's wake, it was Goll who sang his dirge, in a voice full of sorrow and greatness, the voice of a Galliard born. From that day, he bore his responsibility solemnly, and has tried to live up to the memory of the Garou elder he replaced. All but he feel that he has succeeded.

Grouchy but with a cutting wit, Goll Mac Mourna is the fire in the heart of his community. His rough, deep voice resonates with authority and wisdom. He wears the mantle of wise one well, but all remember that not so long ago this elder-in-the-making was a young brawler with a temper as quick as his tongue. A bard of great skill, Goll is still a strong and ready warrior.
