Grout's wife
The wife of Alistair Grout.
Although she is mentioned in one of Grout's recordings as having an illness, it's not clear if he means she herself is a vampire, or if she had another illness. In any case, he seemed to be searching for a cure for her.
He kept her frozen body outside his bedroom, and in fact incorporated her as part of the key to open the door, as a sort of giant music box. It's again unclear if she was already dead and he kept her preserved body, or if she remained encased inside her glass dome in a sort of suspended animation.

Background Information
- Players often see the large painting of Grout's wife upon entering his mansion and assume it's a portrait of Grout himself. However, the name of the texture title (malkwifepic.ttz), as well as the successive pieces of concept art, clearly indicate it's intended to be his wife.
- A no-longer-human doctor trying to find a cure for his ailing wife, who is frozen in suspended animation, bears a very strong resemblance to the story of the DC universe's Mister Freeze, aka Doctor Victor Fries and his wife Nora. The story was first told in the DCAU's excellent episode Heart of Ice.
- The music which plays as she spins, unlocking the door to Grout's sanctum, is the opening bars to the St. Louis Blues, likely the recording made by Germany's Lutz Templin Orchestra in 1941. Although the song itself dates several decades earlier, this performance has lyrics altered to be clear Nazi propaganda.
