Halekulani Hotel
Halekulani Hotel is a Kithain hotel on the island of O’ahu in Hawaii.
Overview

On Gray’s Beach is the Halekulani Hotel, run by an entrepreneurial boggan. The original location was a hut owned by a man who would let the fishermen beach their boats here… the only place common folk were allowed to bring their boats then, for the rich had taken over the rest of the beach. The grateful fishermen named the place the “House Befitting Heaven” (Halekulani). Later, the hotel was built on the land and became the setting for a Charlie Chan mystery novel, The House Without a Key (referring to a time when Hawai'ians did not lock their doors).
The hotel allows human guests, all unaware of the special nature of the hotel’s owners. The best rooms are reserved for Kithain. On nights of special feasts or celebrations, parts of the hotel are shut off from the view of mortals (“reserved for special parties”).
The staff of the hotel, all Kithain or enchanted mortals, ensure that a vacation atmosphere is always maintained. The façade of a fantasy land of stress relief is what attracts tourists to the island in the first place, so most are only too willing to accept the hotel’s laid-back hospitality and eagerness to make their vacations the most relaxing possible.
