Iolanthe (Hetaerae)

Iolanthe is an Unseelie Sidhe Wilder of House Scathach and a member of the Court of Astarte.

Overview

Iolanthe was one of the few Unseelie fae in House Scathach, and was soon ejected for her Unseelie excesses. Joining the commoner Shadow Court, she became a mercenary, hunting down the few sidhe nobles who remained on Earth after the Shattering. She recognized Astarte as a sidhe noble of House Fiona; a great prize during the Interregnum. Astarte drew the young sidhe farther and farther into the circus, eventually enslaving her to its will. Transforming Iolanthe's personality into its mirror opposite, Astarte installed her among the Hetaerae.

Iolanthe is hauntingly beautiful. She is very fae in appearance, with tapered ears and slightly upturned eyes. Her hair is white with a touch of gold and her eyes are stromcloud gray. She is otherworldly, almost ethereal in appearance, and yet there is something of the hunter in her, much in the way of the goddess Diana. In her fae mien, she wears court finery.

Personal

Iolanthe does not remember who she was, but she knows who she is. She is a bringer of joy and light. The universe is an endlessly benign place if one's eyes are open to see. She sees the carnival as a truly benign instrument and doesn't understand those who think otherwise. A fragile, hothouse flower, she avoids unpleasant situations at all costs.

She has a chimerical cat.

Note

Like all changelings in the circus, she is a part of the Court of Astarte. If she somehow regains her memory, she will recover he combat abilities and revert to her Unseelie legacy, as well as be unhappy with the Carnival (and dislike most other people as well.)
