Item:Zharalketh
The Zharalketh is an occult item found in VTM: Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines . It's not available in the base game, but was restored for the Plus version of the Unofficial Patch. It's only available to Nosferatu PCs, as it's found in the Nosferatu-exclusive sewer haven.
- Sliding on this ring you feel the same stomach-dropping sensation you had when you first invoked Obfuscate. As long as you wear Zharalketh you will be able to maintain Obfuscate forty percent longer.
Plus Patch
When picked up, the item is initially Unknown:
- You haven't seen one of these before, but Bun Bun left it here, so it can't be good news.
- You need a Research skill of at least 6 to use this item.
Once the Research requirement has been met, the item is replaced with the Zharalketh.
Background Information
- Several occult items in the game are two objects: one dummy "unknown" item with a skill requirement, and then a full version of the item once the dummy item's requirements have been met.
- item_w_werewolf_attacks, originally an unused "weapon" for the Griffith Park werewolf, has been repurposed for the Unknown version of the Zharalketh.
- Bun-bun is a homicidal rabbit from the Sluggy Freelance webcomic, which began in 1997. Sluggy Freelance has been running for 25 years as of 2022, and its writer, Pete Abrams, is among the first creators who have been able to make a living from their webcomic.
