Kashif Salik was welcomed into Ottawa by Prince Arundel after he fled the Banu Haqim's ancestral home. He's spent the last six months acclimating to the vastly different political atmosphere which he's found as difficult to adapt to as the cold Canadian climate. Many Kindred in the city distrust him and find his insistence on waking during the day to pray toward Mecca strange and illogical, possibly even insane. The Tremere strongly opposed Kashif's welcome into Ottawa's Camarilla circle, and they abandoned the city in protest, leaving Henrik Lang, their chantry keeper, as their sole presence in Ottawa.
Like many of his clan, Kashif has a strong sense of justice and he finds himself bewildered by the inability of his Camarilla hosts to rein in the anonymous threats he receives on a regular basis which he assumes are delivered by the furious Tremere. He has since formed an unexpected friendship with Ophelia, the Malkavian Primogen, who took an almost immediate liking to him.
