Mumpoker Uruisig Gruaghan
Mumpoker Uruisig Gruaghan is a Seelie Redcap Wilder from the Kingdom of Pacifica.
Overview
Also called Mug, Mumpoker is one of the rare Seelie redcaps. He was raised among the Seelie from his Chrysalis. Mug is accepted at court, as he's proven himself loyal on a number of occasions. In size and stature, he is almost as large as a troll, and his prowess in battle is practically legendary. He has friends aplenty and stories he can tell around the fires of winter to keep the darkness at bay.
Now, contrary to most of the rumors revolving around the redcaps, they too have feelings, just as deep and passionate as felt by any other changelings. It is ever so easy to ignore this small wisdom, as the redcaps are notorious for hiding their feelings behind oversized, eager grins, or equally eager snarls. If asked, most will deny that they ever felt anything even close to sadness or fear, and to prove their point they will gladly sink their teeth into the person who is foolish enough to inquire. Mug is no exception. In the redcap's eyes, his greatest sin and his dirtiest secret was simply that he is shy. He hides his secret as best he can, but some of the other redcaps feel something must be wrong with him, as he remains among the Seelie.
Mug eventually fell in love with a squirrel pooka named Megan and tried to win her esteem by defeating a Dragon who made his home in Mount Shasta, which the fae of Caer Redwood call Balor's Heart, with his friend Mailanka. Mug's clumsiness led to Mailanka being knocked out and the redcap faced the dragon alone. It was a completely unbalanced fight and led to Mumpoker being swallowed whole. This was a mistake on the dragon's part as Mug simply ate his way though of the dragon to its heart, causing the two of them to crash out of the air (which many people in the area took to be an earthquake). Mailanka cut him out the beast and Mug recovered, even discovering that Megan liked him too.
Disappearance
One of Mumpoker's jobs is as security for Lady Amelia. When that sidhe lady was cursed, Mumpoker discovered the Unseelie redcap Bloody Nick was behind it (He had beaten the truth out of an ogre working for Nick that Nick had cursed Amelia for proving he had committed a murder he had tried to blame on Mug). While Mug was hurt in the fight (which was witnessed by his sluagh friend Mortimer), he went off immediately after Nick into the Dreaming, not waiting for backup.
Mug disappeared for three days and the rumor at court was that he had turned to his Unseelie side and that maybe he even had something to do with Amelia's sickness. Fortunately, Mortimer returned to court and let them know what had happened. It turns out that, Mug was tricked off of the Silver Path by a pooka working with Nick, and disappeared into the Dreaming, a fate the very few changelings ever come back from. His current whereabouts are known only as "Lost in the Dreaming."
