Oath of Service

The Oath of Service is an Oath of House Leanhaun asked of others who wish to offer timely service but not join the House.

Overview

Not every noble or commoner wishes to ally with or join the house. Some only want to perform a service such as hunting pesky chimera or catering a feast. This oath is offered to such fae for the time of their service and keeps them from speaking of House affairs that they may accidentally discover afterward. Though not as serious as the Oath of Majority, such an oath is backed by the Dreaming and has consequences for forswearing. Most such oaths resemble the following.

Words

I swear by the Dreaming that I will give good service to House Leanhaun, using the best of my abilities and skills to complete my assigned duties. Should I uncover secrets or knowledge damaging to the house I give my oath never to reveal that knowledge or use it in any way against House Leanhaun. Should I break this oath, may I never be able to swear another, may all Kithain henceforth know me for a liar and may my mouth utter nothing but gibberish when the name of Leanhaun is invoked.

Effects

There are no canonical effects for taking or forswearing this oath.
