Oath of the Moon

The Oath of the Moon is the vow to abide by the principles that guide the Forsaken.

An Uratha is given the chance to take the Oath during her initiation into a tribe, and therefore into the People. The exact form of the Oath varies between tribes, as each reinforces it with an additional, special law — a vow to one of The Five.

The Pure Tribes do not follow the Oath of the Moon, but follow their own Oath towards Father Wolf.

Those who break the Oath are known as Sanghba'Zir, "Oathbreakers".

Sample Ghost Wolf Tribal Vows

Tower Hounds (Anzaghar Ilthum): “Levy the sin against the sinner.”

Speakers of the Vine (Khuranu Dhugu): “Speak with words before claws.”

Savage Priests (Idimathu): “In the name of Mother and Father, convert the weak to make them strong.”
Many point out that to convert, one needn’t use violence (though that always remains an option). The tools of conversion are many: seductive words, bitter invective, promises of gain, and threats of destruction.
