Out-of-character

Term used when, during a roleplay session, a person states or asks something independent of the character he plays in the game.

Examples:
- Peter put his sheet aside and said out-of-character that he was going to make everyone a cup of coffee.
- Isabel asked Peter out-of-character if he still had sugar to put in her coffee.
