Pharmakons

Pharmakons, known to Indian Awakened as Atamasi, were Hellenistic-era, primarily-Greek witches who were associated with poisoning, healing, and human sacrifice.

Overview

Generally viewed as outcasts, even by other adherents of their own darshanas, only the exceptionally powerful and strong-willed among the Pharmakons survived for an appreciable length of time. They were occasionally employed by the cults of the time for their services — that is to say, the torture and/or murder of their victims. Such employed Pharmakons wore masks to mark their status as non-member representatives of the cults.

The vast majority of the Pharmakons would, by modern parlance, be Mad, Banishers, or both. A rare few simply took on the role of outcast for its symbolism; these individuals eventually would become the Interfectors of the Guardians of the Veil.
