Saving Both

In order to save both sisters, you must enter the final conversation with Persuasion 4. However, you must also be nice to both sisters in all previous interactions. The game tracks your choices. The following is the optimal path:

Jeanette

Jeanette's interactions are tracked using the "G.Jeanette_Seduce" variable. A Seduction of 2 is required to get the most out of these conversations.

There are some non-optimal interactions: for example, giving Jeanette the Pendant and complimenting her, or insulting her and then getting back in her good graces. Those options are not covered here.

A final score of 4 is needed before gain access to the Tourette confrontation, so it's possible to pick non-optimal dialog options and still triumph. It's preferred that neutral responses are given, as too many negative responses will drop the G.Jeanette_Seduce score below the threshold. Be wary: each positive interaction only adds one, but there are some negative responses which might even subtract 2 from your score.

  • First interaction, on first entering the Asylum
    • Seduction 2: Frightening isn't the word I'd use... exciting is more like it.
    • Malk: I see before me a beauty who shares the madness of my mind.
    • Aren't you the tease? Got a name I can remember you by? (Malks: My heard beats like a thousand primal drums. Give me the gift of your name.
    • That's what I was thinking. What's your name? (Malks: Burn, baby, burn. Give me the pleasure of your label.)
    • Soon can't come soon enough. Goodbye.
    • Total so far: 4
  • Second interactions, upon returning from the Ocean House
    • If Jeanette_Seduce is less than 3: Yes, as a matter of fact, I did. I couldn't stop thinking about you. (Malks: All of my selves are intoxicated with you, white mistress.)
    • If Jeanette_Seduce is 3 or more Actually, I was hoping I'd run into you. (Malks: All of my selves are intoxicated with you, white mistress.)
    • Seduction 2: All the time, Jeanette. What do I do in your thoughts? (Malks: You haunt my dark dreams, but what deeds do I do in your own?)
    • Seduction 2: For you, anything. (Malks: For you I would face the flame at noontime.)
    • I'd never intentionally keep you waiting, Jeanette. Goodbye.
    • This conversation: 4. Total so far: 8

Therese

Therese's interactions are tracked using the "G.Therese_Seduce" variable. A Persuasion of 2 is requires to get the most of these interactions.

A final score of 4 is needed before gain access to the Tourette confrontation, so it's possible to pick non-optimal dialog options and still triumph. It's preferred that neutral responses are given, as too many negative responses will drop the G.Therese_Seduce score below the threshold. Be wary: each positive interaction only adds one, but there are some negative responses which might even subtract 2 from your score.

  • First interaction, on entering the upstairs of the Asylum
    • I'm just glad she's gone. You are Therese? (Malks: I could stomach her oozings no longer. You are Therese, the dark daughter?)
    • I agree. You seem a lot more together. (Malks: Yes. I like the weight of you much better, my sweet darkness.)
    • I'd much rather talk to the sensible sister. (Malks: I seek a more sensible sustenance.)
    • Gladly. What do I have to do? (Malks: Speak your quest, dark one.)
    • Sure, I'll do it. What do I have to do to get rid of the ghost? (Malks: I will cross into the world of spirits. What needs be done?)
    • I can respect that. And I appreciate it. Goodbye. (Malks: Your words are like the reddest nectar, dark daughter. Farewell.)
    • Total so far: 6
  • Second interaction, upon returning from the Gallery Noir:
    • Persuasion 2: You're a rational, professional woman. Certainly there's something I can do. (Malks: Let us talk of equals, dark one. Let business be our sweet nothings.)
    • For Santa Monica's most powerful Kindred, I'd be happy to. (Malks: I side with she of the greatest power. Command me, dark daughter.)
    • If the Baron of Santa Monica wants her sister back, I will get her sister back. (Roses for her when they should be stones, dear baron.)
    • This conversation: 3. Total so far: 9

"Tourette"

The final confrontation with the sisters. Note that, if you don't have the full requirements, your choices are still being tracked: if choices are notably in favor of Jeanette or Therese then that sister will "win" the final struggle over the gun.

Required:

  • A Persuasion of 4 or greater.
  • A G.Jeanette_Seduce score of 4 or greater.
  • A G.Therese_Seduce score of 4 or greater.

Since, at this point, by following the optimal path, you should have scores of 8 for Jeanette and 9 for Therese, it should be easy enough to get your desired result if your Persuasion is high enough.

  • The dialog:
    • Persuasion 4, Jeanette_Seduce 4, Therese_Seduce 4: Why are you both fighting? (From where this hateful quarrel?)
    • Persuasion 4, Jeanette_Seduce 4, Therese_Seduce 4: Both of you stop. (Malks: Both sides need to cease this conflict.)
    • Persuasion 4, Jeanette_Seduce 4, Therese_Seduce 4: Stop it right now, both of you. (Malks: Become mute both mouths! Cease this quarrel.)
    • Persuasion 4, Jeanette_Seduce 4, Therese_Seduce 4: If you both want to continue to exist, you're going to have to live with each other. (Malks: You must both learn to live in the same skin.)
    • Persuasion 4, and you must have picked the above four options: Both of you have been working against the other. Together, you'd be a power. (Malks: If you could learn to join hands, think of the strength you command.)
    • Persuasion 4, Jeanette_Seduce 4, Therese_Seduce 4: That's all in the past. Forget about it. (Malks: The past is a worn garment - dispose of it.)
    • Five or more of the above responses: No matter what happened, you two need each each other to move on. (Malks: History's shadow need not fall on you both.)
    • Think of how powerful you could both be if you worked together. (Malks: Work together, and your power will more than double.)
      • It's possible to pick some of the other options -- "Because I don't think you could live without the other," for example -- but those options will fail and circle back. The exact dialog won't be identical, but pick the most similar to the above: how working together they can become more powerful.
    • Pick the following two options (the order doesn't matter, just don't tell them to kill each other):
      • Therese, let Jeanette have more responsibility. (Malks: Dark one, let the light carry more of the burden.)
      • Jeanette, stop sabotaging your sister's plans. (Malks: White mistress, stand not in the way of the dark one's plans.)
    • If you'll call a truce and run this place equally, there's no need to kill each other. (Malks: Run this house as a family, and you both may unlive another day.)
    • You both must have gotten along at one time. (Malks: Was there never a time when you looked each other in the eye?)
    • You don't really want to kill each other, do you? (Malks: You don't really wish to become an only child?)
    • Give me the gun, Therese.

And you've successfully saved both sisters. If you're playing the Plus version of the Unofficial Patch, you've gained a Humanity.
