Shining-Cresent
Biography
Shining-Cresent grew up among Kitsune, with noting but contempt for humans. During his Rite of the Crossroads, he beheld five bowls instead of the usual four: the fifth bowl held silver that disappeared when he tried to grasp it. He ultimately chose the path of the Doshi, and learned as many Gifts, rites and supernatural talents as he could find.
As the leader of the Boiling Silver Gang sentai, Shining-Crescent quickly established his crediblity. They won several bloody battles, and even pursued a wu of Kuei-Jin to San Diego to retrieve a fetish that had been stolen from their court. In the midst of the battle, the sentai's Pillar was fatally wounded; when the last of the demon people had been dealt with, the hengeyokai turned to their fallen comrade and found a young woman trying to give him medical attention. The woman, a student nurse, could not be frightened off, and Shining-Crescent began to fall in love with her on the spot.
The nurse wouldn't leave the shape-shifters alone, even when they demonstrated their beast forms. Shining-Crescent sent his fallen comrade's body home to China, while he and Sondok stayed in California to keep searching for the stolen fetish. Their new nurse friend helped them as much as they could, and soon she and Shining-Crescent became lovers. He was making plans to take her back to China with him when she announced she was pregnant.
Striken, Shining-Crescent had to explain that the parents of Kitsune rarely survive their children. His lover took the news surprisingly well, and began putting her affairs in order. Their daughter bred true, and Shining-Crescent returned heartbroken to China. He has become a recluse, bitter over his past success, and his court no longer calls on him for his aid.
