Shining Sword of Glamorgan
The "Shining Sword" of Glamorgan is a legendary Treasure of the Fae.
Overview
in 19 CE, Wales was home to a mighty Half-sidhe, Half-magus named Glamorgan. He used this "shining sword" to drive giants out of the principality that would eventually bear his name. He himself would later be fatally gored by a black boar in 461. The sword would eventually come to Morgan le Fay and through her to Prince Carniog.
A long sword of shining silver, the sword is powerfully enchanted. As Morgan told Carniog, "This be the Sword of Glamorgan, who did conquer this realm six centuries ago. Mark well these words: The sword be invincible within Cymru; but should ye set foot beyond the country's borders, the sword shall turn on thee, and disaster shall surely follow." With the sword at his side, Carniog was indeed invincible... until the secret was discovered.
In the final battle of Carniog's Doom, on a sea shore, the secret of the sword became known when Prince Rhys, freed from his imprisonment in the Black Torc, gave the secret to his mother Caerna. Using magic, Caerna's force caused the sea to rise around Carniog which essentially moved him beyond the bounds of Cymru... by moving the bounds of Cymru. The sword turned in his hand and struck him down, then slipped from his hand into the sea.
Its current whereabouts are unknown.
