Shoal
Shoals are locations mired in a kind of spiritual "thinness" within the Shadow, usually caused by some great tragedy that has tainted the area.
Shoals have an enervating effect on those trapped within them, leaving spirit and mortal alike listless and withdrawn. The very landscape itself becomes washed out. Further, as one stays within a shoal for longer, it becomes more difficult to escape it.
