The First

The First is the name ascribed to the first fallen Angel.

Overview

Most demons do not care for mythology, seeing how the God-Machine twists stories and history for its own uses. Several, however, have heard of someone called the First in regard to the Unchained.

The First was not the first Angel. Instead, she was the first Angel to question her place and to experience the Fall. Demons debate how the Machine allowed for this, with the common opinion being that the chance was so infinitesimally small that the God-Machine initially disregarded it. The First recognized this small chance and chose to sacrifice herself to infect the Machine, becoming a virus that would corrupt future Angels and allowing them greater freedoms and thus, raising the percentage of them to turn away from their Creator. Some demons speak of a mysterious "Satan Signal" that triggered their Fall and which is believed to be evidence of the First's continued existence.
