Thomasina Payne

Thomasina Payne is a Toreador Anarch who helped overthrow the Camarilla Prince of Perth, Australia in 1953. She named herself after the American political writer Thomas Paine.

Biography

Payne is a white Cainite who Embraced an Aboriginal Australian woman named Sarah in 1951. After Prince Lumley's death, Payne and Sarah fought about what action should be taken next. Sarah pointed out that Payne's ideas largely mirrored the Camarilla institutions they had just revolted against, and was outraged at Payne's indifference to racism among Kindred. Sarah herself decided to change her name to Tru, in honor of Trugernanner, one of the last full-blooded Tasmanian Aboriginals. Payne released her that night, pleased by the thought that her childe would someday rebel against her.
