Wailer is a Project Iliad Fomori.

Biography

Wailer once went by the name Andy Waller, but he has since forgotten his first name. His shyness was legendary in college. Not content avoiding crowds, Andy turned loneliness into an exact science. He meticulously alienated himself from every possible friend, social group and club.

The one relationship that he did permit himself was with his computer, and it would be his undoing. Andy spent hours logged on, communicating with foreign databases and exploring the underside of the Internet. He subscribed to the most depraved and sadistic newsgroups and kept touch with various online criminals. Of course, Pentex kept tabs on such forums, and Andy's activities signaled a flag on Prentex' search programs.

The corporation invited Andy to contribute to a new research program that would let him tap directly into the Internet. Theoretically, he would be able to project his consciousness into the computer and manipulate it at the speed of thought. While the process seemed sound, the best scientists in the world couldn't pull it off, let alone the goons Pentex hired (budget cuts and all that). Andy became a liability and was scheduled for termination. However, the Iliad scientists decided to perform an experiment of their own. Andy died that day, and Wailer was born.

Wailer resembles Andy in many ways; not even his parents could tell the difference. He is as shy and socially awkward as ever. Wailer has no hobbies besides computing. The only friends he currently has are using him for his skills and only associate with him because they're ordered to by Pentex. The largest difference between Andy and Wailer lies in Wailer's ability to transform into a hideous, sharp-toothed, screaming monster that enjoys venting its frustrations on helpless victims.

Appearance

Plain, nondescript and lonely. Wailer has a flat face and long, uncombed hair. He dresses casually, in T-shirts and jeans; stands 6'2"; and weighs a mere 165 pounds.
