Wild Portal
A Wild Portal is a type of uncontrolled, unknown entrance to the Dreaming.
Overview
A fairly new phenomenon, Wild Portals are entrances to the Dreaming that open onto paths that appear, at first, to be trods with Silver Path and all. In actuality they lead only to the wildest parts of the Far or Deep Dreaming
Nature
If one looks closely at these portals, one can guess their nature. They often appear crooked or poorly constructed, overgrown with peculiar foliage for the area, or have an odd smell. Any changeling who steps through will quickly find him or herself lost in the Dreaming; stranded with no idea, without puissant arts anyway, of how to return home. The lost one can expect days, months, or years of wild adventures in the attempt to find a way home through some of the least understood, most chaotic parts of the Dreaming.
Creation
No one is exactly sure where these phenomena come from or how they came to exist. Seelie Fae believe they are Unseelie work while the Unseelie blame them on the Seelie. Both sides claim that powerful fae deliberately crafted the portals to lure and catch enemies. Others postulate that these portals are creations of the Dreaming itself from the time of the Shattering... a last gasp of Magic trying to maintain a connection to the mundane world when the old one failed and closed.
