Ancient Greek Νεφελοκοκκῡγῐ́ᾱ (Nephelokokkūgíā, cloud-cuckoo-land), from (νεφέλη (nephélē, cloud) + κόκκῡξ (kókkūx, cuckoo) + -ῐ́ᾱ (-íā, country suffix)). A placename created by Aristophanes, the city of The Birds. In philological texts, referred as Nephelococcygia.
