Inherited from Prakrit 𑀡𑁄𑀓𑁆𑀔 (ṇŏkkha), from Sanskrit अनपेक्ष (ánapēkṣa). Cognate with Hindustani انوکھا / अनोखा (anokhā), Punjabi اَݨوکھا / ਅਣੋਖਾ (aṇokhā) and Saraiki اَنوکْھڑا (anokhṛā).
