Etymology
Original term in the Ijesha dialect is Uléṣà. Several folk etymologies exist, the most prominent being from ulé (“home”) + ṣà (“to choose, to select”), literally “The home that we chose” or ulé (“home”) + òòṣà (“orisha”), literally “Home of the orisha”, compare with Ìjẹ̀ṣà, Ùjẹ̀ṣà
